our nights, five days, incredible entertainment and some of our favourite family memories yet.

Sailed 17–21 September 2026 | Singapore
We've been fortunate enough to experience some pretty extraordinary family holidays over the years, from luxury resorts in the Maldives to beautiful island escapes in Fiji.
But there's something about a Disney cruise that keeps drawing us back.
In September 2026, we boarded Disney Adventure in Singapore with our two children, Aria and Tommy, ready for four nights of Disney magic.
And as this was our third Disney cruise, we had pretty high expectations.
We already knew how special Disney cruising could be, but Disney Adventure was unlike anything we'd experienced before.
The scale of the ship was incredible. Everywhere we looked, there were beautifully themed areas, exciting attractions and something new to discover.
For me, Jay, the excitement was knowing we had four nights to explore this enormous floating Disney world.
For Mel, who's undoubtedly the biggest Disney fan in our family, it was seeing all that familiar Disney magic brought to life on such a spectacular scale.
In fact, Mel described it as the most beautiful cruise ship we'd experienced.
So, is Disney Adventure really worth it for families?
Here's everything we loved, a few things we'd do differently, and why we'd happily sail again.
First Impressions: Disney Magic on an Extraordinary Scale
The first thing that struck me was just how much there was to explore.
Disney Adventure is enormous, and rather than feeling like a traditional cruise ship, it's divided into beautifully themed areas that transport you into different Disney worlds.
From colourful streetscapes and exciting attractions to spectacular entertainment spaces, there was something new around almost every corner.
Seeing Aria and Tommy's faces light up as we discovered each new area was pretty special.
And although we've been on Disney cruises before, this felt different.
It was bigger, full of surprises and packed with activities that we couldn't wait to experience together.
One thing we quickly realised was that this wasn't going to be a holiday where the children had all the fun while Mum and Dad watched from the sidelines.
We were going to have just as much fun as they were.
And that's exactly what happened.
San Fransokyo Street: Our Favourite Family Discovery
One of our absolute favourite areas aboard Disney Adventure was San Fransokyo Street, inspired by Disney's Big Hero 6.
Walking into this colourful, Japanese-inspired world genuinely felt like stepping into another country.
Having travelled through Japan as a family, we particularly loved the atmosphere.
The streetscape, noodle shop details, Baymax references and incredible theming made it feel like we were wandering through a futuristic Japanese city.
And being completely air-conditioned made it a welcome escape from Singapore's tropical heat!
But the real highlight for our family was the interactive gaming area.
Mel has always loved a good arcade, so naturally, this became one of her favourite places on the ship.
Our favourite activity involved an interactive floor covered in illuminated squares and patterns.
We had to jump, move and stamp our feet in the right places as the games changed beneath us.
It was competitive, energetic and absolutely hilarious.
The kids loved it, but Mel and I were just as involved.
We spent ages laughing, challenging one another and playing together.
And looking back, some of our favourite memories from the entire cruise came from those simple moments.
That's something Disney does exceptionally well. It doesn't just entertain children. It gives parents the chance to become kids again, too.
Rotational Dining: Where Dinner Becomes Part of the Show
If there's one thing we've always loved about Disney Cruise Line, it's the dining experiences.
And Disney Adventure certainly didn't disappoint.
Disney uses a rotational dining system, where guests experience different themed restaurants throughout their cruise while their dedicated waitstaff move with them.
It might sound like a small detail, but when you're travelling with children, it's brilliant.
The team quickly learns what your family likes.
They understand that sometimes the kids simply want chicken nuggets and chips, and that ice cream is almost always going to be requested afterwards!
Meanwhile, the adults can enjoy beautiful food, wonderful service and incredible entertainment.
Two restaurants really stood out to us.
Hollywood Spotlight Club: Dinner With Mickey and the Gang
This was one of the most entertaining dining experiences we had aboard Disney Adventure.
There was beautiful live singing, fantastic choreography and appearances from Captain Mickey, Minnie and their friends.
Watching the characters perform and interact with guests while we enjoyed dinner was incredible.
Aria and Tommy were completely captivated.
And for Mel, who absolutely loves Disney entertainment, it was one of those experiences that reminded her why Disney does family holidays so well.
It was fun, beautifully presented and genuinely memorable.
Animator's Table: Watching Our Drawings Come to Life
This was another family favourite.
During dinner, we were invited to draw our own characters, which were later transformed into animations and brought to life on screen, complete with music.
Watching Aria and Tommy realise their drawings were part of the show was priceless.
We'd experienced a similar concept aboard Disney Wonder, but Mel particularly liked how the animation was presented on Disney Adventure.
The screens made it easier to follow the show and spot our own creations without worrying about missing anything.
It was such a clever way to make the children feel part of the experience.
We did still miss Tiana's Place aboard Disney Wonder, which remains one of our favourite Disney dining memories.
But Animator's Table absolutely delivered its own kind of magic.
Mowgli's Eatery: The Unexpected Food Highlight
Now, here's something we didn't expect to be raving about after a Disney cruise.
Indian food!
We absolutely loved Mowgli's Eatery.
The curries, naan, roti and poppadums were delicious, and we found ourselves returning for more throughout the cruise.
It's not every day you find yourself enjoying some of your favourite Indian food while sailing aboard a Disney ship.
But that's one of the things we loved about Disney Adventure.
There was so much variety that everyone could find something they enjoyed.
And when you're travelling with children who can be particular about food, having plenty of easy options makes a huge difference.
The Shows: Disney Nostalgia Brought to Life
For Mel, the entertainment was one of the biggest highlights of the entire cruise.
And it's easy to understand why.
Disney has an extraordinary ability to take stories and characters we've grown up with and bring them to life in ways that feel genuinely magical.
The productions aboard Disney Adventure were spectacular.
Beautiful singing, incredible costumes, impressive staging and wonderful audience interaction made the shows so much more than traditional cruise entertainment.
One of our favourite moments involved WALL-E.
It's a character that can sometimes be overlooked among Disney's bigger franchises, but seeing WALL-E brought to life as part of the entertainment was incredibly special.
We also loved how the performers and characters moved through the auditorium, interacting with guests and making everyone feel part of the show.
For Aria and Tommy, having characters come past and give them high-fives was unforgettable.
For us, watching their reactions was just as magical as the performances themselves.
Fireworks at Sea: Worth Staying Up For
Another unforgettable experience was the Lion King-themed fireworks show.
Watching the night sky light up above a Disney cruise ship was extraordinary.
It was a little later than the kids would normally stay awake, but neither of them complained.
They were completely captivated.
And those are the moments that remind us why we love travelling as a family.
Sometimes the memories that last the longest are the ones where everyone stays up a little later, forgets about bedtime and simply enjoys being together.
Kids' Clubs: Amazing Facilities, But We Loved Exploring Together
Disney Cruise Line has always done an incredible job with children's activities, and Disney Adventure was no exception.
The kids' club facilities were fantastic, with themed spaces, activities, character experiences and plenty to keep younger guests entertained.
Aria and Tommy particularly loved the Mickey dance party.
Seeing them dancing and having the time of their lives was wonderful.
But something actually surprised us during this cruise.
On some of our previous holidays, the children have been desperate to spend every possible moment in the kids' club.
This time, although they absolutely loved it when they went, they didn't constantly ask to go back.
There was simply so much happening around the ship that they wanted to explore with us.
And we loved that.
Whether we were playing arcade games, watching shows, meeting characters or discovering new areas, we were having so much fun together that we didn't feel the need to separate.
For us, that was one of the biggest highlights of Disney Adventure. It wasn't just a great holiday for the kids. It was a great holiday for our whole family.
Pools, Waterslides and the Famous Ironcycle Test Run
Disney Adventure has an impressive range of outdoor activities, including pools, splash areas, waterslides and the famous Ironcycle Test Run.
But there's something we'd recommend families check before booking.
Check the Height Restrictions
We were a little surprised by the height restrictions on some of the waterslides.
Aria and Tommy are on the smaller side for their ages, and unfortunately, they weren't tall enough to experience the Jessie and Woody attractions they were excited about.
Naturally, that was disappointing.
Thankfully, there were still smaller children's waterslides and splash areas they could enjoy.
An adult needed to remain nearby, which was absolutely fine.
Although I must admit, standing in the splash area meant being repeatedly soaked by enthusiastic children armed with water hoses!
The kids had a fantastic time regardless.
Our advice is to check the height requirements for any must-do attractions before your cruise, particularly if you're travelling with younger children.
Ironcycle: Mel's Favourite Attraction
If you ask Mel what one of her favourite things aboard Disney Adventure was, she'll probably say Ironcycle Test Run.
She loved it so much that she rode it four times!
And as she said:
"Where else can you ride a roller coaster on a cruise ship at sea?"
It's such a unique experience and another example of how Disney has created something different with this ship.
For families with older children, teenagers or adventurous adults, it's definitely an attraction worth looking forward to.
How Does Disney Adventure Compare With Other Disney Ships?
Having experienced Disney cruising before, we noticed that Disney Adventure has a different feel from some of the other ships.
The vessel was originally developed for another cruise operator before Disney acquired the project.
And you can notice that difference in certain parts of the design.
For me, one thing that stood out was the absence of the same grand atrium feeling we'd experienced aboard some of Disney's other ships.
There's something special about walking into those enormous, beautifully designed central spaces.
Disney Adventure doesn't recreate that experience in quite the same way.
Instead, it focuses on immersive themed areas and incredible entertainment spaces throughout the ship.
We wouldn't say one is necessarily better than the other.
They're simply different.
And while we missed some elements of the traditional Disney cruise ship design, we absolutely loved the atmosphere and variety that Disney Adventure offered.
It was spectacular in its own way.
Is Four Nights Enough on Disney Adventure?
Mel's Perspective
For Mel, four nights felt like the perfect introduction to Disney Adventure.
We had enough time to explore the ship, enjoy the entertainment, experience the restaurants and revisit our favourite attractions.
And of course, she managed to fit in four rides on Ironcycle!
But we also recognise that our experience might have been different on a completely full sailing.
With more guests aboard, we might have appreciated an additional night to experience everything.
One thing we didn't manage to do was try the adult-exclusive specialty dining, including Palo.
That's definitely something we'd love to experience next time.
With different itineraries and the opportunity to explore destinations such as Langkawi on selected sailings, there are even more reasons to consider returning.
For us, though, four nights was a wonderful amount of time.
And cruising from Singapore is particularly convenient for Australian families.
It's a destination we already love, with incredible hotels, shopping, dining and family-friendly attractions.
Combining a Disney cruise with a few nights in Singapore would make a fantastic family holiday.
We Experienced Disney Adventure Concierge - Was It Worth It?
For this particular cruise, we decided to experience Disney Adventure in Concierge accommodation.
And it genuinely elevated our holiday.
From the beautiful suite and exclusive lounge to priority experiences, personalised service and peaceful spaces to relax, Concierge added another level of comfort and convenience.
But we also want to emphasise that many of the incredible experiences we've described throughout this article are available to guests staying in other accommodation categories.
You absolutely don't need to travel Concierge to enjoy the magic of Disney Adventure.
For families who value extra space, attentive service and a more relaxed luxury experience, however, we think Concierge is well worth considering.
We've written a separate, detailed review of our experience, including the benefits, the little touches that made it special and whether we'd pay for it again.

Our Verdict: Would We Sail Disney Adventure Again?
Jay's Perspective
For me, Disney Adventure was an absolutely incredible experience.
Seeing a ship of this size transformed into a Disney wonderland was something special.
I loved exploring the themed areas, discovering new activities and watching the kids' faces light up around every corner.
And cruising from Singapore makes it such an appealing holiday option for Australian families.
I think Disney Adventure is particularly well suited to families with children aged around three to twelve, although there's plenty for teenagers, adults and couples to enjoy as well.
Whether you're a massive Disney fan or simply looking for an exciting family holiday, there's something for everyone.
I'd happily recommend it.
Mel's Perspective
For Mel, Disney Adventure was simply a whole lot of fun.
She loved the beautiful ship, incredible entertainment, interactive experiences and, of course, Ironcycle.
As the biggest Disney fan in our family, she was delighted that the experience lived up to her expectations and then some.
But what she loved most was that we could all enjoy the Disney magic together.
And she's already looking forward to experiencing another Disney ship.
Final Thoughts: A Holiday Where Everyone Gets to Have Fun
Looking back on our four nights aboard Disney Adventure, it's difficult to choose just one favourite moment.
Was it watching the children's drawings come to life at Animator's Table?
Seeing their faces during the fireworks?
Exploring San Fransokyo Street and laughing together over the interactive games?
Or simply enjoying the excitement of discovering something new around every corner?
For us, it was all of those things.
We've experienced some extraordinary family holidays, but Disney Adventure reminded us that luxury family travel isn't always about quiet resorts and beautiful suites.
Sometimes it's about sharing incredible experiences, laughing together and creating memories that your children will talk about long after you've returned home.
We weren't just watching Aria and Tommy have the time of their lives. We were having the time of our lives with them.
And that's exactly what made Disney Adventure so special.
Would we go back?
Absolutely.
In a heartbeat.
